As former long-time president of the Goingsnake District Heritage Association, I would like to call a reorganization meeting for the Association. It will take place at 10 a.m. at the John F. Henderson Public Library in Westville on Saturday, January 17th. There are a number of people who are committed to reviving the organization to see that it continues for many more years in the future.

Dwayne Marvin Garrett of Ochelata, Oklahoma, was born June 26, 1945, and passed away November 16, 2025. Dwayne was born into a horse-loving family in California. They raised and raced championship horses in California and Oklahoma for many years, before moving to Oklahoma, where they continued their endeavors. Dwayne attended school at Nelogany, Oklahoma.
