Four Juvenile Girls Hospitalized After Lightning Strike at Blue Hole Park

TULSA, Okla. — Four juvenile girls were hospitalized Saturday morning after being struck by lightning while swimming at Blue Hole Park on Saline Creek in Mayes County, according to the Grand River Dam Authority Police Department.

GRDA Police said the girls were in the water around 10:45 a.m. when lightning struck, injuring all four.

Two of the girls were transported by ambulance to a Tulsa hospital. The other two were taken to a Pryor hospital in personal vehicles, authorities said.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including GRDA Police, the Mayes Emergency Services Trust Authority, the Mayes County Sheriff’s Office, the Kenwood Fire Department, and the Chimney Rock Fire Department.
