Annella Marie Revis, age 70,

Annella Marie Revis, age 70, of Sapulpa, and most recently residing in New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2025.

Marie was born on July 22, 1955, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to Ann Florene (Rolland) Holder and Sammy Berryhill. She grew up in Sapulpa and attended Jones Academy Indian boarding school in Hartshorne, Okla, graduating from Hartshorne High School in 1973. She continued her education at Haskell Indian Nations College and Northeastern State University. With determination and resilience, she returned to school later in life and proudly completed her bachelor’s degree at Wesleyan College. This accomplishment was one of her greatest sources of pride, as it reflected her perseverance, commitment to education, and her role as an example to her children and grandchildren that it is never too late to pursue your dreams.

Marie dedicated her career to serving her community and her people. She worked in various administrative positions for the Muscogee (Creek) Nation National Council before devoting over 30 years of service to the Indian Health Service, where she touched countless lives with her dedication, compassion, and professionalism. In 2020, she was in a traumatic accident that led to partial paralysis and other physical limitations. Despite the challenges she faced following the accident, Marie was determined to live a life of love and joy, moving to New Mexico to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

She was the proud and loving mother of five children: Kenneth Lovato, Kristin Lovato, Tonita Lovato, Lucretia Lovato, and Stand Waitie Lovato, and the beloved grandmother of six grandchildren, Jeslyn Lovato, Kaylene Lovato, Nathan Lovato, Kahlia Lovato, Ellen Lovato, and Delaina Whaler, who brought her endless joy and pride.

Outside of her work and family, Marie had many passions. She loved watching basketball, OU football, sewing, listening to music, and cheering on contestants on The Voice. She especially cherished her Yuchi culture, community, and traditions, never turning down a night of stomp dancing, always with the biggest smile on her face come sunrise.

Those who knew Marie will remember her as a fierce and determined woman, quick-witted and full of life. She was also known for her great knack for storytelling, especially when it came to growing up at Jones Academy. Although she could always get a good laugh from her stories and quick wit, Marie was also strong in her faith and always humble in her prayers. She had a heart for helping anyone in need and lived her faith daily, grounded in devotion and service.

She was a devoted member of the Polecat Ceremonial Ground and the Yuchi Chapter of the Native American Church. Her faith in God guided her life and gave her strength, shaping the way she cared for others and the way she lived with integrity and compassion.

Marie was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Florene Holder; and her brothers Robert “Bobby” Lee and Gerald “Hvtke” Revis. She is survived by her five children and six

grandchildren, as well as her siblings Harley Revis, Faith Revis, Sammie Revis, Lester Revis, Eddie Dale, and many nieces and nephews who were deeply impacted by her love.

Her legacy of strength, humor, compassion, and faith will live on through her family, her community, and the many lives she touched along her journey.
