Mary Ellen Lunsford received her wings on March 14,2026. She passed peacefully in her home with family by her side. Muny's life was indeed a life well lived. Filled with laughter, romance, action, drama, music, adventure and love. She was loyal, fun, honest, smart, funny and loving.
She enjoyed sharing a good meal, spending time with her best friend Jackie, going on trips with her husband, communing with nature, and finding any reason for a family get together.
Many made sure she got to do all the things. She married , raised a family, graduated Phi Theta Kappa at RSU, divorced and remarried, had grandchildren and great grandchildren, traveled the US, attended lots of concerts, water and snow skied, grew a garden, raised cats, dogs, chickens and geese, learned and became fluent in Cherokee, learned taxidermy (much to the dismay of her parents who discovered it in their shed), had champagne in a hot air ballon, went all out decorating for Christmas went to school plays, learned how to sew, win a bass fishing tournament, sang with the voice of an angel, and most of all loved her family and God. What a wonderful legacy She will be truly missed.
